Effective Termite Treatment

IMPORTANT INFORMATION! If you have found active termites, make sure you do not disturb them by either spraying or touching them or their mudding. This can aggravate the termites and complicate the termite treatment.

One in three homes in Sydney will experience the effect of termites in their lifetime. We have personally seen the devastating impact termites can have on Sydney homes and businesses therefore we use the most proven termite treatments on the market. We are so confident in our treatment solutions that we offer a 10-year warranty.

Our treatments are not only for active termites residing in Sydney properties. They also work as a preventative measure to ensure you never have to worry about termites damaging your property. This is extremely important as most home insurances do not cover termite damage and if you are ever wanting to sell your home, most buyers will require the property to have a prevention already in place.

Let us run through our termite treatment options

Termite Barrier Treatment

Termite barriers are one of our most popular options for Sydney properties as it is an instant solution that guarantees your home to be termite free for 10 years. We use the best termiticide on the market Fipronil. This chemical is a non-repellent, meaning the termites will take it back to the nest and the colony will all die no matter where the queen is located. Barrier treatments involve trenching around the external wall perimeter, trenching and flooding all garden beds, grass areas and subfloor of the dwelling if applicable, drilling and chemical injecting along slab parallel to the wall.

The residual chemical will leave an active termite barrier for 10 years around your Sydney property. BUGGO pest control will provide a 10-year warranty for this barrier, provided that 12 monthly inspections are carried out by our pest experts. If termite activity is found outside of a treatment limitation area, warranty will include treating any active termite nests on the treated dwelling at BUGGO pest controls expense. A durable notice sticker will be left in the electrical box and a termite treatment certificate will be provided once treatment has been completed.

Termite Baiting and Monitoring

Termite baiting and monitoring systems are described as inground stations placed every 3 metres around the external perimeter of your Sydney home. If Subterranean termites come into contact with your home, they will likely attack these stations filled with a timber or an always active termite bait. If baited they will take this growth regulating bait back to the nest, eliminating the colony before ever touching your home.

Servicing these stations is recommended every 1-6 months depending on the level of termite risk assessed by our experts. This method is best suited for houses built in rocky and sloped areas. If active termites are found on your property, direct colony baiting is another popular treatment solution. Once termites are feeding on the bait, we will monitor their feeding and activity in 1 to 4 weekly check-ups until the nest has been eliminated. This approach is great for when you cannot locate where the termites may be coming from in the ground.

Termite Colony Control

Once active termites have been located, it is important to use termite colony control methods such as foaming, dusting or spraying with a fipronil based chemical. Termites will then transfer this pesticide though the nest, eliminating the colony. This part of the process will remove current activity, however there will be no ongoing protection on its own. We also include colony control treatments with our termite management treatment.
